There are different types of art galleries that exist in today’s society. Every art gallery falls in one of the two following categories viz. public or private. Public galleries are the ones that are generally open to the public with no or a nominal admission fee. Private galleries on the other hand are owned by an individual or a group of individuals and are open to only invitees. Private galleries are mostly for business purpose and the art forms that are on display are generally for sale. Other types include museum galleries, vanity galleries where the artist needs to pay for the wall space and online galleries.
Art galleries exist in almost all countries of the world where there is sufficient population. Almost every urban city in this world has at least one art gallery.
There are many benefits to the society that are offered by art galleries. First and foremost, the mere display of art works brings with it a sense of culture and civilization to every city that has anart gallery and without one, this would have been absent. Be it Tokyo or be it London, some elements of culture would have been missing without art galleries. Art has effects that are similar to music. Music can transform a downtown area into more than just an urban living area and turn to into an artistic center. Art affects the society in the same way. Moreover, there are millions of public galleries that are open to the public for free and a newbie can display his or her work there and connect to the society as well.
